#ShelfLife Turns 18!

Librarians love lists, right? So, as we began making our list of Staff Favorites of 2017, we realized that today marks 18th month since we first started bringing you recommended reads and new materials in our #ShelfLife feed on Instagram.

You – all the readers, authors, and booklovers who make up our circle of friends - are what make it so much fun to search the stacks for hidden gems and rip the wrapping off freshly printed books so we can snap a shelfie.

We appreciate the time you take to visit us (virtually and IRL), to like or comment, and to read the books we share. It’s our great pleasure to share in the #ShelfLife with you.

So, let's get to it! A recap of the books we've shared this week is below. If you've found a great book, be sure to leave us a comment and your book could be featured in the #ShelfLife next week!

Today is National Cookie Day! It’s the perfect excuse to snuggle up to a cold mug of milk, your favorite cookie, and a good book. We’re celebrating with these sweet reads: THE CHRISTMAS COOKIE CLUB by Ann Pearlman, a novel about group of women who always come together at their annual Christmas cookie exchange with a tasty dish, a bottle of wine, and stories of their struggles and successes; THE DUCKLING GETS A COOKIE!? by Mo Willems, a storytime favorite about a duckling who asks politely for a cookie and then shares it with a friend; and TOUGH COOKIE by David Wisniewski, a comedic crime caper with cut-paper illustrations that make for a most munchable mystery. #ShelfLife #NationalCookieDay #cookies #ChristmasCookies #fiction #womensfiction #TheChristmasCookieClub #AnnPearlman @atriabooks #kidlit #childrensbooks #TheDucklingGetsACookie #MoWillems #ToughCookie #DavidWisniewski
