This novel is a powerful, gripping and emotional read I couldn’t put down. Eilanna is a woman beaten down by life’s blows and is left with nothing. She's strong, desperate for love and is willing to risk it all to get a touch from Jesus to heal her body and soul. This author allows readers an up-close and personal view of this young lady’s life as readers walk in Eilanna’s shoes and feel her pain. She’s heart sick and desperate to be healed of a sickness that plagued her body and shaped her life.
There are twelve discussion questions to enhance your book club experience. I highly recommend this novel, it’s one you won’t soon forget. This is the first novel I’ve read by this author, it won’t be the last. This is an incredible, life changing story that would be great for your book club. It’s a must read.

I loved this book!!! My bookclub read her previous one and then we couldn't wait to get this one! It was fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that your book club read and discussed this book. This is a rich story with so much to discuss. I would have loved to sit in your meeting and hear what they had to say about the book. This was the first story I've read by this author. I'm looking forward to reading more of Tessa Afshar's novels; especially now that you've told me her other books were good too!

You should dust it off and read it. I think this book is as moving and as powerful at Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. Let me know what you think after you read the book!
DeleteThanks Nora for a great review. I was startled when I saw the FCPL in the URL because I retired from another FCPL after 22 1/2 years. I was the cataloger, tech services librarian and Interlibrary Loan librarian at Fleming County Public Library in Flemingsburg, KY.
ReplyDeleteNora, I look forward to seeing more of your reviews!
Nice to meet you Connie, It sounds like you've had some interesting jobs at the Public Library. I'm currently a CSA. I hope to learn and grow within the library system. I appreciate your encouragement. I look forward to you stopping by again!
DeleteSounds like a good read. The review left me wondering when and where the book is set. Is it historical?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteYes, it's a historical. It's the story of the lady with the issue of blood. It's the only time mentioned in the bible where Jesus stops everything and asks, "Who touched me" It's her story! Thanks for asking!
DeleteTo say that I loved this book is an understatement! It was a very powerful story by a very gifted storyteller. It deserved at least 10 stars.
ReplyDeleteGreat review, Nora. I haven't read this one yet, but I love Tessa's writing. And I met her at ICRS once. She's adorable! :)
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to read this author for a long time. If this is as good as Redeeming Love I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI quit checking books out of the library when I received my first nook and now I have my kindle, too. Even paying $1.99 for a book adds up so I have stopped paying for books that aren't free or from NetGalley, authors, and The Book Club Network system for my review.
I will definitely will read this one before summer ends. Thanks, Nora!
I have read the previous one of this and very excited to read this. Few days ago I have Download PDF of this one.
