Large Type Collection Is Growing

Near the end of the library's fiscal year on June 30, 2016, we were fortunate to receive additional funds for the purchase of new materials. As a result, our Large Type collection will grow substantially.

We choose several standing order plans from Thorndike Press and they offer the largest selection of Large Type bestsellers available anywhere. Many Thorndike titles are published at the same time or within three weeks of the original publisher’s release date, so patrons that prefer to read Large Type can access newly published materials more quickly.

Patrons that prefer Large Type can expect to see more:

• Blockbuster bestsellers‚ award-winners‚ and well-reviewed current “buzz” books
• In-demand non-fiction titles that are highly engaging and have a broad appeal to many readers
• The best in large print Christian fiction including many Christian Booksellers Association bestsellers and Christy Award winners
• “Clean Reads” - a mix of appealing‚ wholesome general fiction‚ mystery and romance titles
• Bestselling and well-reviewed biographies and memoirs
• Titles that will appeal to today’s life-long learners on a range of topics including how-to, financial advice, health issues, and personal growth
• Popular mystery sub-genres: classic whodunits‚ hard-boiled‚ cozies‚ police procedurals‚ true crime‚ and adventure/suspense

All four branches of the Forsyth County Public Library will receive a number of fresh, new Large Type titles each month. We hope staff and patrons enjoy these new materials!
