I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh

This debut novel from a former police officer is told from several points of view and will keep readers guessing with unexpected twists and turns. Five year-old Jacob is killed by a hit and run driver when he lets go of his mother's hand on their way home from school one rainy afternoon. The police have little to go on in their investigation and are eventually forced to put the cold case aside. Jenna Gray, devastated by Jacob's death, leaves Bristol and tries to start over in Wales. She continues to be haunted by nightmares of the accident and Jacob's subsequent death. Just when Jenna seems to be making a new life for herself, her past comes back to haunt her. Who killed Jacob? Why did Jenna run away from Bristol? Those questions and others will keep you reading until the conclusion.
