Library Limelight: Jill Wagner, Youth Specialist, Sharon Forks Library

Library Limelight is intended to be a quick read to help FCPL patrons get to know our librarians and staff.  We hope you enjoy learning about the people who make our libraries great!

Jill loves books and she loves to run!

Where is your hometown?
Clifton Park, New York
How long have you been at FCPL?
3 years
What other jobs have you had at FCPL?
Information Specialist
Why did you choose to work in a library?
I was a teacher before we moved here from NY 4 years ago. I love that the work we do here allows me to stay in the education field: promoting literacy and working with children, without all the grading!
Describe your job in five words or less.
Reading, Singing, Jumping, More Jumping (lots of jumping)
What is unique about your job?
The things we do make children’s faces light up.
What is your favorite part of your job?
My coworkers. I feel so fortunate to be able to work with so many smart, passionate, hard-working people. I learn so much from each of them and we laugh every day.
What’s the most interesting place you’ve lived or traveled?
I haven’t traveled very much but we lived on the Jersey Shore for 7 years. I loved being so close to the ocean.
What are your hobbies?
I like to run as often as I can on trails here in the county and in the North Georgia Mountains.
What are you reading right now?
I just finished Blood at the Root by Patrick Phillips. I am reading Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo and listening to Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Steifvater (both YA).
Paper books or eBooks?
Both, and audiobooks!
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
My husband and I have twins who are almost 21 and in college, and triplets who are 13 years old. Between my family, working at the library and pursuing my MLIS degree, we are very busy, but I love it.
