Athens Artist Toni Carlucci to Teach Beadweaving at Sharon Forks Library

Forsyth County Public Library will present Beadweaving, a Just My Imagination workshop sponsored by the Georgia Museum of Art, on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sharon Forks Library, 2820 Old Atlanta Road, Cumming. The two-hour program is free and is recommended for adults, ages 18 and up.

Athens artist and teacher Toni Carlucci will demonstrate the process of simple beadweaving and participants will use beads to create their own woven beadwork.

Space is limited to 25 participants. Tickets will be issued fifteen minutes before the program begins. A library card is not required to participate.

Just My Imagination workshops are organized by the Georgia Museum of Art and sponsored by Georgia Museum of Art Board members June Ball, David Matheny, Marilyn McMullan, Gordhan Patel, and Janet Patterson.

“Just My Imagination is a statewide series of programs featuring artists working in a variety of media,” explains Meredith Causey, Information Services Supervisor at the Sharon Forks Library.

“Ms. Carlucci previously visited our community to share the history of beadweaving with children. Now, she’ll share that history with our adult patrons and we know they’ll be fascinated to learn how ancient civilizations used this technique and then try creating a piece for themselves.”
