How to Access Library Resources from Home

Don't be discouraged if you can't get to the library. You can get to the eLibrary from the comfort of your couch!

If you haven't used the online services available from Forsyth County Public Library, this is the perfect opportunity to explore the eLibrary!

What is an eLibrary?

eLibrary is the term we use to describe all the books, audiobooks, magazines, videos, tutorials, research databases, and learning tools that library cardholders can access on the library's website at www.forsythpl.org.

These services are available even when the library is closed.

What resources are in the eLibrary?

You'll find several options for downloading or streaming eBooks, eMagazines, eAudiobooks, and videos in the eLibrary. Some items in the eLibrary allow multiple users to access them simultaneously. For example, RomanceBookCloud offers thousands of eBooks for library cardholders to check out with no holds and no waiting.

The eResources section includes links to popular publications like The New York Times Online and Consumer Reports, as well as auto repair manuals, genealogy resources, health and medicine databases, literature resources, and job and career resources. This section also includes academic resources for students and teachers, as well as a link to free, online tutoring from Tutor.com.

How do I get into the eLibrary?

You'll need your library card number and PIN to log into most eLibrary resources. Your library card number is located under the bar code on the back of your physical library card and your PIN was selected when you received your library card.

Most students enrolled in Forsyth County Schools have a virtual library card that can be accessed with their student ID number and PIN.

If you've forgotten your PIN, you can reset it by going to the My Account page, click "Forgot your PIN?" and enter your library card number or username, then click the "E-mail PIN" button and we'll send a new PIN to the email address on file with your account.

If you do not have a Forsyth County Public Library card, you can apply for a temporary card online and start accessing eLibrary services immediately. Apply online to get started.

If you're still having trouble logging in, Email a Librarian.

What if I don't know how to use the eLibrary?

Not to worry! We can help.

Tutorials for many of our eLibrary resources are posted online in the FCPL Academy. Just log in and select the service you'd like to use to watch a video or get detailed instructions.

If you're still stumped, please call 770-781-9840 during the library's regular business hours.
