Two and a half years
What other jobs have you had at FCPL?
This is my first.
Why did you choose to work in a library?
I like the quiet atmosphere and I love books.
Describe your job in five words or less.
Sorting, shelving, efficiency, odd jobs
What is unique about your job?
We do a little bit of all sorts of things besides shelving, such as checking in magazines, adding new Mylar, conducting inventory, and preparing new DVD/CD cases.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I love being organized, so I find sorting enjoyable.
What’s the most interesting place you’ve lived or traveled?
The most interesting place I’ve traveled is Ireland, specifically Sligo, the childhood haunts of the poet W. B. Yeats.
What are your hobbies?
Writing, video gaming, beadwork
What are you reading right now?
The Last Stormlord by Glenda Larke, Treasures of Fantasy edited by Margaret Wise and Tracy Hickman, Irish Fairy and Folk Tales compiled by W. B. Yeats and Scivias by Hildegard von Bingen.
Paper books, eBooks, or audiobooks?
Definitely paper, sometimes audio. eBooks are too . . . ephemeral.
Is there anything else you’d like to share?
I am an aspiring author with a completed YA Sci-fi novel and am currently looking for an agent. Maybe you’ll see The Red Days on the shelf in the future!
