FCPL is challenging you to read something new (to you) in 2022!
Throughout 2022 we’re inviting you to read along with our suggested reading goals as part of our FCPL Reads program. Along the way, we hope you discover new authors, genres, and formats. The 2022 reading goals will give readers of all ages the opportunity to travel the world, explore other cultures, and celebrate reading.
Each month we’ll be featuring a new reading goal, but you can read the goals in any order you would like. Pick the ones that interest you and fit your reading mood.
FCPL Reads runs from January through December 2022 and is open to all readers from kindergarten to adults.
To complete the challenge, readers are asked to read six out of the twelve goals. We encourage you to read at your own pace, whether that is a book a month, every other month, or every week.
The complete list of monthly reading goals is below and on our website for your convenience. New this year: we’ve created a two-sided paper tracker (including a cute coloring page!) you can print out to help you follow along and log your reading. You can also register for this program in Beanstack and track your reading goals online. Or do both. Whatever works for you!Not sure where to start? Check out our curated book lists for adults, teens, and kids or ask your librarian to recommend a title. We’ll provide reading lists of suggested titles for each month’s goal (April - December coming soon!) or ask a librarian for a book recommendation.
January: Read a book to start your new year.
February: Read a book by a Black author in honor of Black History Month.
March: Read a book in a genre or format you don't normally read. (Don't forget to check out our eLibrary, too!)
