Where is your hometown?
Well, I was born in Barranquilla, Colombia and then moved to Quito, Ecuador. We relocated to the U.S where I’ve lived in Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, and California. I’ll claim Cumming, as I’ve lived here the longest.How long have you been at FCPL?
My first day was Feb. 23, 1997.What other jobs have you had at FCPL?
I was the first to work as a BSA for Circulation.Why did you choose to work in a library?
My life-long love of reading, along with my desire to help others, was the perfect match for working in a library. There is also the teensy fact that I needed money for travel to Italy…Describe your job in five words or less.
Engaging, enjoyable, gratifying, challenging, and dynamic.What is unique about your job?
The possibilities for helping people are endless. And, I run the Mailbox Books program for our homebound patrons.What is your favorite part of your job?
Helping people, who at the end of our transaction, leave satisfied and with a smile. Also, receiving notes from Mailbox Books patrons who view their mailer bags of library items as Christmas presents and are so appreciative of this service.What’s the most interesting place you’ve lived or traveled?
It’s too hard to choose just one. I’ll narrow it down to: the interesting landscape around Reykiavik and in New Zealand, birds and kangaroos passing by our cabin on Hamilton Beach Australia, mischievous monkeys in Gibraltar, pandas in Shanghai, museums and palaces in St. Petersburg and Moscow…What are your hobbies?
Reading fiction, looking over cookbooks, cooking, gardening, and traveling.What are you reading right now?
Escape Clause by John Sandford and Home by Harlan Coben. I’m looking over One Pan Wonders and Food in Jars. I’m listening to The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapeña.Paper books or eBooks?

I like the feeling that working at FCPL gives me, that of belonging to a team. Every member of our team is very supportive and a friend. I have my family, and I have my library family.
