BREAKING NEWS! Bigfoot has been spotted at the Post Road Library. Multiple reports state he can be seen skulking around the grounds. Some claim the best place to view him is from the windows in the Children’s Room.

Library Celebrates National Friends of the Library Week

The staff of Forsyth County Public Library (FCPL) would like to recognize and thank the FCPL Friends and Advocates as part of the 17th annual National Friends of Libraries Week, October 16-22, 2022.

Since the FCPL Friends and Advocates were established in 1995, they have raised over $500,000 through used book sales, membership fees, and other donations to fund special programs, materials, and resources beyond the library's regular budget.

Consumer Reports is a nonprofit organization that tests products and conducts research. The organization has become a trusted source for information about products - such as appliances, vehicles, technology, and more - by testing safety and performance. The magazine is published monthly and available in FCPL branches. Digital access is also available within the branches. However, you can access articles and reviews from your phone or computer at home or on-the-go, too.

During Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 through October 15, I want to highlight one of my favorite literary writers, Alejandro Zambra. 

Alejandro Zambra is an award-winning poet, short story writer, and novelist who grew up in a suburb of Santiago during the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet and now lives in Mexico City.  

Alejandro Zambra’s latest literary novel, Chilean Poet, revolves around an eccentric community of aspiring poets and poetry aficionados in Santiago and paints a vibrant picture of modern Chile. Romantic encounters, loves, losses, and misfires play out (and are sometimes memorialized in poetry) amid discussions of classic and modern poets and poetry.
