Library Limelight: Ross Weaver, Network Technician

Where is your hometown? 

Cumming, GA

How long have you been at FCPL? 

One year currently in this role, but I worked at Sharon Forks as a Collection Support Aide (CSA) in 2001. 

Why did you choose to work in a library? 

To get back in the Network Technician/ Network Admin role.

Describe your job in five words or less.

Manage network for the branches.

What is unique about your job? 

Maintaining the network so that the branches can communicate with one another, also running network scans to make sure that the network is safe and secure.

What is your favorite part of your job? 

Building the network infrastructure and making sure it’s safe and secure.

What’s the most interesting place you’ve lived or traveled?

I traveled and stayed in St. Croix for three weeks working on undersea fiber optic connection between St. Croix and New York.

What are your hobbies? 


Judo, Collectable Card Games, board games, video games, and hanging out with my kids.

What are you reading right now? 

I am currently rereading the Forgotten Realms series by R. A. Salvatore.

Is there anything else you’d like to share? 

I have a first degree black belt in Judo and am working on getting my second degree black belt.
