Adventure Begins at Your Library - Explore New Genres

In keeping with Forsyth County Public Library's summer reading theme, Adventure Beings at Your Library, visitors to the Sharon Forks Library can explore new genres and find reading suggestions in themed picnic baskets throughout the branch.

Our June picnic basket themes highlight books for foodies, short stories, classics, and green reads, which include fiction and nonfiction books that have an environmental angle.

The foodie basket includes colorful cookbooks, fun and fascinating fiction for cooks and gourmets, and even a Thai comic cookbook, Noodles, Rice, and Everything Spice by Christina de Witte.

Here are some of the other titles in our Foodies basket.

Indulge: Delicious and Decadent Dishes to Enjoy and Share by Valerie Bertinelli

Valerie Bertenilli shares her perspective on how to savor moments big and small in a full color cookbook that includes recipes for the food she enjoys serving her own friends and family like garlic confit BLT, oven "fried" okra, and sausage and olive cheese bites.

Butter by Asako Yuzuki

This Japanese bestseller is inspired by the real case of a convicted con woman and serial killer. Foodies and mystery fans will enjoy this captivating story about a determined journalist who starts a dialog with an accused serial killer by asking for her beef stew recipe.

When someone passes away in Ellerie County, the St. Anne’s funeral committee arrives with homemade pies, casseroles, sandwiches and pastas - even when the deceased’s spouse is a celebrity chef. Fans of books with small-town settings will enjoy getting to know all of the characters in Ellerie County.

Visit the Sharon Forks Library this summer to find your next read. Readers of all ages can participate in our FCPL's Summer Reading Program through July 31.
