Meet Brianna Schantz—FCPL's Latest Library Limelight!

You know when you meet someone who loves what they do so much it stands out in everything they do? That was my experience when I met our latest Library Limelight, Brianna Schantz, who fosters creativity in so many ways at Forsyth County Public Library (FCPL).

Brianna currently serves as an Information Specialist at Sharon Forks, and embodies the passion and dedication that make libraries such vibrant community hubs. With four years of experience at FCPL, Brianna began her journey as a Collection Support Aide before advancing to her current role.

Brianna is well prepared for an exciting

backpacking adventure in North Carolina

For Brianna, working in a library is a dream come true. She relishes the opportunity to assist patrons on their quest for knowledge, plan engaging programs, and collaborate with kind, creative colleagues—all while surrounded by books. Her enthusiasm for her work shines through as she describes her job in just five words: "Helping, teaching, planning, and creating."

One of Brianna's favorite aspects of her position is leading adult writing groups. She takes pride in nurturing the talents of local writers and fostering a supportive community among them. This passion for creative expression recently culminated in the successful "Writers' Night of Adventure" event, a spin-off of the annual "Writers' Night of Fright" program at Cumming Library.

Outside of work, Brianna is an adventurer at heart. Her hobbies include hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, writing, film photography, and ballet. She's even conquered Mount Mitchell (6,684 ft.), the highest peak in the Appalachian Mountains and the eastern United States!

Brianna has mad climbing skills

A lover of literature, Brianna cites Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers as her favorite book. If given the choice of any reading locale, her dream spot would be the ruins of a castle in Wales, combining her love for books with her spirit of adventure.

Brianna’s dedication to fostering creativity, supporting local talent, and embracing adventure both in and out of the library makes her an invaluable asset to the FCPL and all the patrons she serves.
