RBdigital eMagazines move to OverDrive February 4

Forsyth County Public Library will move its collection of RBdigital eMagazines to its OverDrive collection on Thursday, February 4, 2021. 

This change comes as a result of OverDrive acquiring RBmedia’s library business, RBdigital, in North America, UK, and Australia in 2020. eMagazines in the RBdigital collection will be transferred to OverDrive and patrons will continue to be able to browse, borrow, and enjoy even more eMagazines in OverDrive’s Libby app.

Transition from RBdigital

FCPL patrons may access RBdigital eMagazines, along with hundreds of new eMagazines, in the library’s OverDrive website or in the Libby app beginning February 4, 2021. 

Access to RBdigital eMagazines in the RBdigital app will end on March 31, 2021.

Getting Started with Libby

Forsyth County Public Library is proud to offer patrons access to over 3,000 eMagazines anytime, anywhere through Libby, the one-tap reading app. Libby also includes access to the library’s collection of eBooks and eAudiobooks.

For those who have not yet tried the Libby app, all you need to get started is your Forsyth County Public Library card and PIN number. The Libby app is easy to use and will guide you through the setup process and get you connected to our library in just a few minutes.

Libby is available for Apple and Android devices.

Patrons can find in-app support, visit the Libby Help site or Libby Academy within the app, or contact Forsyth County Public Library at 770-781-9840 for assistance.

Access eMagazines 24/7

In just a few taps, patrons can start reading eMagazines instantly on a phone or tablet. Libby is available 24/7 without leaving home and is free with your Forsyth County Public Library card.

Where is your hometown?

I moved often as a child, so I don’t really have a hometown. I’ve lived in Texas, Colorado, North Carolina, and Georgia.

How long have you been at FCPL?

7 years

What other jobs have you had at FCPL?

I was the Information Services Supervisor at Cumming for a couple of years.

Why did you choose to work in a library?

I love helping people find information and great books to read. I never realized how much other work went into the job, but I love it all! 

Describe your job in five words or less.

Other duties as assigned.

What is unique about your job?

I love that every day brings something new and interesting.

What is your favorite part of your job?

I absolutely love helping our patrons of all ages find a new book or series to get lost in.

What’s the most interesting place you’ve lived or traveled?

After college, I traveled with my best friend through England, Wales, and Ireland, living out of a backpack and staying in hostels, and loved every minute of it.

What are your hobbies?

I rescue and foster cats, garden, and do jigsaw puzzles.

What are you reading right now?

Right now I’m listening to This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab and reading An Embarrassment of Witches by Sophie Goldstein

FCPL Reading Challenge: February 2021

February Reading Challenge

This month we challenge our staff and our patrons to read from the page to the screen: read a book that has been made into a movie or a television series. 

You can choose a book intended for young readers, such as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (available in print and DVD), or a book intended for adults, such as The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (available in print and DVD).
