Program Spotlight - Stock Car Racing Then and Now: Celebrating 75 Years of NASCAR

Start your engines!

NASCAR season is here!

Not only is 2023 the 75th anniversary of NASCAR (National Association For Stock Car Auto Racing), but the racing season kicked off on February 19 with the Daytona 500, NASCAR’s first and biggest race of the year.

Given NASCAR’s Georgia roots (its birthplace was in Dawsonville, GA, home of the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame) and the popularity of the Atlanta Motor Speedway, the Sharon Forks Library is celebrating with a program presented by Ed Clark, president of the Atlanta Motor Speedway.  Mr. Clark will discuss NASCAR’s fascinating history, the different eras of NASCAR, where the sport is now, and its future. He will also share captivating stories from his many years in motor sports.

Stock Car Racing Then and Now: Celebrating 75 Years of NASCAR will be held at the Sharon Forks Library on Tuesday, February 28 at 7:00 p.m. This program is intended for adults and teens.
