Meet Swati Mugave, FCPL's Latest Library Limelight!

Submitted by Joanie Goforth

Meet Swati Mugave, a Collection Support Aide whose multifaceted talents bring a passionate love for learning and helping others to the Post Road Library. Originally from Maharashtra, India, Swati has been sharing her enthusiasm for libraries with FCPL for five years.

When asked about her favorite part of the job, Swati extolled

“the quiet hum of the library, a space that fosters focus and creativity.” She finds inspiration in “witnessing that ‘Aha!’ moment when someone finds the perfect book they need.” It’s clear why she is such a valuable asset to our FCPL team!

Swati has always been driven by a desire to help people learn and explore new ideas, and she believes that libraries are a treasure trove of knowledge. When asked to describe her work in five words or fewer, she aptly replied, “Book whisperer & Dewey Decimal Decoder.” Remarkably, she can hold a surprisingly large number of books in her arms at once, making her something of a librarian Jenga champion!

When Swati has free time, you might see her out and about traveling, shopping, or nestled somewhere enjoying music and podcasts. Recently, Swati is proud to have added some rhythmic spice to her life by learning the Dhol, a vibrant drum used in traditional Indian music.

We are so fortunate to have Swati “spicing up” our team and community by sharing her time, talents, and profound love of learning!
