Forsyth County Public Library's Summer Reading Fun theme is Color Our World. Here are some of the colorful picture books in our collection.
A Rainbow in Brown by Pavonis GironJosephine loves to paint and has fun mixing colors to create new ones. She makes a remarkable discovery when she combines primary and secondary colors together that gives her the perfect color for painting horses, frogs, moths, birds, and even herself.
This picture book describes all the things a young girl loves that are black, including her puppy, musical notes, fancy clothes, her mother’s braids, ink, and her own eyelashes. Young readers will enjoy the rhyming text and collage-style illustrations in this thoughtful picture book.
Vivi loves the color pink and even performs errands for neighbors so she can earn enough money to buy the bride doll in pink that she admires in a store window. What will she do when she finds out a classmate she envies has already purchased the doll? Cute illustrations reveal how Vivi finds happiness in unexpected ways and offer a teachable lesson on how to handle disappointments.
