#ShelfLife - September 1, 2017

Today's photo shoot with Pieces of Happiness by Ann Ostby was a perfect way to kick off a long weekend of reading and relaxing. We just need to stock up on more chocolate and plant a lawn chair under a nice, shady tree and we'll be set for the next few days.

If you're looking for reading recommendations for your own Labor Day plans, check out this selections from this week's #ShelfLife feed listed below.

If you're reading something exciting over the long weekend, please leave a comment below and your book may be featured on Instagram next week. Happy reading!

If you liked A TEASPOON OF EARTH AND SEA by Dina Nayeri (@dinanayeri), you'll want to make a trip to the Post Road Library. Nayeri's second novel, REFUGE, will be arriving on shelves shortly. The book charts the deeply moving lifetime relationship between a father and a daughter, seen through the prism of global immigration. Beautifully written, full of insight, charm, and humor, the novel subtly exposes the parts of ourselves that get left behind in the wake of diaspora and ultimately asks: Must home always be a physical place, or can we find it in another person? This book would make a great conversation starter for your next book club. Reserve your copy at catalog.forsythpl.org. #ShelfLife #bookstagram #amreading #fiction #globalimmigration #daughters #fathers #family #home #dinanayeri #refuge #penguinrandomhouse @riverheadbooks
