Free eResources for FCPL Card Holders: Consumer Reports

As we head into the holiday shopping season, how can you make sure you’re getting the best value for your hard-earned cash?

One trusted source for accurate product reviews is Consumer Reports. Forsyth County Library card holders can access CR’s product reviews online through our eResources page. Print editions of Consumer Reports magazine are available for checkout at each of our four branches. When you're comparison shopping, remember that your library card gives you free access to reliable product reviews from Consumer Reports.

If you use search engines like Google or online reviews to research and compare the items on your wishlist, how can you know that the information you’re getting is accurate and unbiased? Sly marketing generated though artificial intelligence, fake reviews, and content created specifically for the purpose of landing at the top of your results page make it difficult to differentiate between commercial content and authentic product comparisons and recommendations.

Founded in 1936, Consumer Reports is an independent, nonprofit member organization dedicated to promoting truth, transparency, and fairness in the marketplace. Each edition of the monthly magazine offers side by side comparisons and rankings of specific brands and models.

Find consumer alerts specific to Georgia residents on things like car buying and home repair along with advice on how to avoid scams at Consumer Ed, a website created by the Georgia Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division.

Stay informed this holiday season and have a happy Thanksgiving.
