Post Road Library Announces Halloween Costume Swap

Costume Swap graphic features three Post Road Librarians in Halloween costumes. Drop off your gently used costumes at any branch now–October 2, 2025, then come to the Costume Swap at Post Road Library on Sunday, October 5, at 2:30–4:30 p.m.

Halloween is coming! Post Road Library wants your gently used costumes for their first ever Halloween Costume Swap.

Post Road Library staff came up with this unique program idea based on their love of dressing up for Halloween, combined with a desire to create a community-based way to exchange resources that are often worn just once.

"We are hoping the costume swap offers an opportunity for people to finally find a home for the nice items they have been hanging on to, while allowing others to have something new-to-them. We also hope that it stops so many 'single use' items from ending up in landfills," said
Brooke Richards, Information Services Supervisor at Post Road Library.

"We also hope that it can provide an opportunity for creativity. Pairing a few key accessories with items you already own and are comfortable wearing would be a great way to get a unique costume," Brooke continued.

Please donate your gently used costumes at any FCPL location through October 2, 2025. Costumes and accessories for all ages and sizes are welcome!

Whether or not you have any costumes to donate, all are welcome to the Costume Swap event at Post Road Library on October 5 from 2:30–4:30 p.m. to pick out a new (to you) costume.

Donation Guidelines:
  • Costumes must be clean and in good condition
  • Bag complete costumes together
  • Accessories can be donated alone
  • Costumes for all ages will be accepted
